Concept of Kokyugama
-
I make ceramics with 100 % organic materials, so all of my works has natural texture.
Cray
-
I use my own blended clay, mainly shigaraki clay mixed with other clay from local area.
Kiln
-
Most of tableware and other small ceramics are made in kerosene kiln.
Tea-utensils, flower vases, drinking vessels are fired by using Shigaraki-style anagama(wood-fired kiln) for about 5 days.
Pottery Studio
-
I make ceramiscs in a traditional Japanese old house, which was self-renovated into a pottery studio.
